About Vedic meditation from my teacher Matt Ringrose:

When we are stressed our heart rate and blood pressure increase and our bodies release stress-hormones such as adrenalin and cortisol. We go into survival mode and ‘non-essential’ functions such as fertility go way down the body’s list of priorities.

A study at the University of Western Australia found that women are more likely to conceive during periods when they are relaxed rather than stressed. A study at Trakya University, in Turkey, also found that stress reduces sperm count and motility, suggesting that meditation may also boost male fertility.

When we meditate “the heart can slow and blood circulation flows freely to the body’s tissues, feeding it with nutrients and oxygen. This restful state is good for fertility, as the body is able to conserve the resources it needs to generate new life.” (Sydney Morning Herald Aug 20 2009).

Meditation not only helps increase fertility by reducing stress, it also increases production of hormones such as oxytocin and melatonin, responsible for rest, relaxation, loving emotions, and feelings of trust, helping you approach birth and parenting more positively.

Vedic Meditation, the technique taught at Bondi Meditation Centre, has been scientifically proven to be twice as effective at reducing stress as other meditation styles. (Journal of Clinical Psychology, 45 (1989): 957–974) It is also very easy to learn.

The course runs over four days for an hour and a half each day. By the end of the course even a complete novice will have become self-sufficient and able to meditate anytime, anywhere. If this sounds unlikely to you then rest assured that the package includes ongoing support from the teacher, and our commitment is to ensure that every student is comfortable and confident in their practice.
